Lead Systems Administrator (all genders) based in Berlin, Germany. This role requires minimum 3 days per week in office presence.

Your mission with us

As the Lead Systems Administrator at Lingoda, you will champion a customer-first approach to Business IT, supporting colleagues with their IT needs. You will oversee the reliability and security of core office tools, Google Workspace environment, backups, SaaS providers, Zoom Rooms, and hardware/laptops. You will foster a visible and accessible IT presence in the office, manage the team to resolve requests efficiently to meet SLAs, proactively manage vendor relationships, contracts and licenses, and align technical projects with company OKRs to ensure a seamless, supportive experience for all Lingodies. This role reports to the Head of Business Technology.

Your tasks

  • Manage our Business IT Service, including SaaS vendors, printing, laptops, IT support, office WiFi, starters, leavers, backups, Office Room Booking, Office Key system and offline meeting room technology.
  • Provide direct line management to the IT Team, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Where required, be hands-on in resolving IT tickets to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Create and manage quarterly goals aligned with company OKRs for the IT Team area.
  • Manage IT projects (e.g., improvement projects, software migration, security improvements, backup improvements).
  • Manage IT contracts and software procurement, ensuring good value contracts/prices, renewals, and an up-to-date spend forecast.
  • Manage software user licenses efficiently and proactively to maximize value from suppliers.
  • Ensure security and reliability controls meet business, customer, and industry best practices.
  • Stay current with the latest IT trends and leverage new technologies to increase efficiency and innovation.
  • Foster a positive environment and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Form strong relationships with stakeholders and the broader engineering team to ensure alignment and that the IT team exceeds expectations.

You bring to Lingoda

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing IT systems, office IT, cloud software/SaaS, Google Workspace or Active Directory
  • Experience managing teams of 3–5 people
  • Experience managing IT vendor contracts, license management, and supplier negotiations
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and internal IT support
  • Strong ability to balance business requirements with technical processes to achieve success
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, attention to detail, and team management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
