Huawei Heisenberg Research Center (Munich) is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products. At Huawei's Optical Technology Lab, we solve the puzzle of how to guarantee that a billion bits of data arrive perfectly intact when sent at the speed of light. We are designing next generation forward error correction (FEC) codes for the world's most advanced data center networks.

Your mission : We're searching for a skilled Master Thesis student with a passion for channel coding to help us design next generation forward error correction (FEC) codes.

• Build powerful simulation tools in Python or C/C++ to test and analyze novel channel codes.
• Design and develop new FEC codes and decoding algorithms from the ground up.
• Run simulations to find the optimal solutions for our next‑generation hardware.

Your areas of expertise :

• A strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Profound knowledge of channel coding is a must. You should be familiar with communication theory and specific code families like BCH codes.
• Love to code and are proficient in C++ and/or Python.
