Master's thesis "Functional catalyst systems for the electrical splitting of ammonia"

The department Heterogeneous Catalysis works on tasks related to catalyst development. For catalytic ammonia decomposition, cobalt catalysts for indirectly and directly electrically heated reactors have already been synthesized and tested in a corresponding test reactor. As part of your master's thesis, you will test further variants of these catalysts (other active metals and carrier materials).

Be part of change

• Literature research on the topic of catalytic ammonia decomposition and alternative heating methods
• Synthesis, characterization, and testing of heterogeneous catalysts
• Evaluation of experimental data
• Independent work in the laboratory and on experimental equipment
• Interpretation and presentation of the results

What you contribute

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering, technical chemistry, or chemical engineering
• Independent and conscientious scientific approach to work
• Ideally, initial experience in working with larger testing facilities and in the field of heterogeneous catalysis
• Strong communication skills and an enjoyment of working in a team
