The Position: Working Student – Laser & Optics

As a Working Student – Laser & Optics at Hades, you will support our laser & optical team on everything from design of optics and diagnostics, set up of our optical lab to conducting optical and laser drilling experiments. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and scientists to make ultra-deep drilling fast and cheap.

Responsibilities

  • Support our laser & optical engineers on all tasks related to the design and development of our laser & optical setup
  • Support of our laser drilling experiments
  • Research, down selection and communication with suppliers for optical parts
  • Set up of optical laboratory and conducting experiments

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual who possesses:

  • BSc or MSc in Physics, Photonics, Optical Engineering or related field.
  • Prior experience in a optical laboratory, plus if with high power
  • Knowledge of standard laser safety requirements
  • Willingness to work hands-on
