Platinum Unix System Engineer (f/m/x)

Als Unix‑Systemingenieur im Platinum UNIX Support Team wirst du Unix‑Support für unseren globalen Bestand bereitstellen. Dies umfasst den operativen Support, die Systemwartung (Patching) sowie Automatisierung (Skripting). Zudem wirst du Hardware von HP und Oracle ExaData unterstützen.

Position Overview

As a Unix system engineer of the Platinum UNIX Support Team, you will provide Unix support for our global estate. This includes operational support, system maintenance (patching) and automation (scripting). You will support hardware from HP and Oracle ExaData.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work in a global team in a follow‑the‑sun model.
• Support of our global estate including weekend and some out of hours work.
• Work with other infrastructure teams on solving issues.
• Work closely with our engineering team and vendors.
• Interface with IT and business clients at all levels of the organization.
• Participate in one of our platinum projects and initiatives.

Your Skills And Experiences

• 5+ years of experience with Linux (OEL and RHEL).
• Strong skills in TCP/IP Networking & advanced systems tuning, network topology and firewalled environments.
• 5+ years of experience with systems administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning.
• Full understanding of the principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layout, Ethernet, bonding, PCIe Technologies.
• Experience in a scripting or programming language.
