Postdoctoral Researcher – AI-based Multi-Omics in Computational Biomedicine (m/f/d)

The Department of Stem Cell Biology at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a newly established research group in Bioinformatics for Multi‑Omics. The position is embedded in a BMFTR‑funded project focused on AI‑driven integration of multi‑omics data to study complex comorbidities, with a particular focus on Parkinson’s disease (PD) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

  • Develop and apply AI models (e.g., graph neural networks, variational autoencoders) for integrative multi‑omics analysis
  • Construct and analyze molecular interaction networks across e.g. transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data
  • Perform biomarker discovery and simulation‑based perturbation analyses
  • Collaborate with clinicians and experimental scientists in a translational research environment
  • Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and contribute to open‑source software
