About the Team

Our hardware development team in Bochum focuses on the design and industrialization of advanced electronic and power‑electronic systems. The team works at the intersection of mechanical engineering, power electronics, and thermal design, ensuring reliable, manufacturable, and high‑performance products.

Working in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, you will partner closely with mechanical, software, and system engineers to develop robust device architectures, optimize thermal performance, and ensure successful integration of complex power electronics into larger assemblies.

The team combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical problem‑solving to deliver solutions that perform reliably in real‑world environments.

About the Role

As a Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of power electronics for sophisticated electronic systems, with a particular focus on PCB design, power electronics topologies, and thermal management.

You will support the full product lifecycle, from concept development through prototyping and validation to industrialization. The role requires strong collaboration with mechanical and software engineers to ensure optimal performance, manufacturability, and product reliability.

This position is ideal for engineers interested in working at the interface between mechanical engineering and electronics, contributing to next‑generation test and measurement and power electronic technologies.

Responsibilities

This position will be located in Bochum, Germany at Keysight's Electronic Industrial Solutions Group. The site in Bochum, Germany is primarily devoted to the design, manufacture, and marketing of Keysight’s power supply solutions. These products range from high power switching supplies, AC sources, 30kW regenerative power solutions, solar array simulators, to AC grid emulators up to 1MW in power.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and skill set in power electronics, switching converter design, analog design, control systems, digital signal processing, and embedded programming. HDL skills would be a plus.

In this position, you will work with a mentor on hardware‑based designs for new Keysight programmable power supplies. You will regularly use some of the most advanced measurement and simulation tools available while learning from our experienced staff members.
