The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Professor in "Carbon Composites" W3 Associate/Full Professor; to begin in winter semester 2026/27.

The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Department of Aerospace and Geodesy at the TUM School of Engineering and Design.

Responsibilities

• Research and teaching
• Promotion of early‑career scientists
• Research in carbon composite technology focusing on manufacturing technology (fiber placement, LCM and preforming, injection processes, thermoplastics, additive processes for composites)
• Strong link to materials science, structural mechanics and design methods
• Application areas including aerospace, ground transportation and energy systems
• Teaching courses in the university's bachelor and master programmes

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognised scientific environment
• University degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification
• Pedagogical aptitude
• Substantial research experience abroad
