Job Summary

A professorship for life at grade W 3 to be appointed as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Represent the field of Romance Linguistics (French and Italian) in research and teaching.
• Shape joint research projects planned within the Department of Linguistics and Multilingualism and contribute to the university’s interdisciplinary focus areas.
• Provide organisational support for the Romanian‑language lectureship and the binational bachelor’s programme in German‑Italian Studies.
• Supervise students in bachelor’s, master’s and teacher training programmes, deliver research‑oriented teaching and develop innovative teaching concepts.
• Engage in interdisciplinary programmes such as the University of Regensburg Teacher Education Centre.
• Participate in international research networks and academic self‑administration.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in the core areas of French and Italian linguistics.
• Focus on multilingualism research expected.
• Completed university degree, pedagogic suitability and doctoral degree (or equivalent research record such as Habilitation).
• Scientific research experience gained outside of a university or as a Junior Professor is considered equivalent.
• Experience in competitive acquisition of third‑party funding projects desirable.
• Experience in international research networks and participation in academic self‑administration required.
