What will you do?

You will be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring the precision and efficiency of our projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging a significant knowledge gap, quickly taking ownership of critical financial processes, system administration, and operational reporting. Working closely with project teams and senior management, you will not only manage project finances but also streamline operational workflows, playing a key role in our continued success and strategic growth within our Berlin office.

Your Day‑to‑day Will Include

  • Administer and maintain our core project/controlling software (Filemaker), ensuring its stability and data integrity.
  • Providing crucial short‑term financial steering insights for management.
  • Manage revenue recognition (PoC) processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Generate comprehensive project performance reports for management (OPC Meetings), highlighting key metrics and actionable insights.
  • Support budget planning (QXRF) and strategic financial forecasting cycles, working closely with various departments.
  • Execute various month‑end closing tasks specific to project and operational controlling to ensure timely reporting.
  • Contribute to the financial evaluation and modeling of new business cases and initiatives.
  • Develop and document clear, step‑by‑step instructions for all assigned financial and operational processes to ensure robust knowledge transfer and continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including project managers, accounting, and IT, to optimize workflows and implement improvements.
  • Support the end‑to‑end migration process to a new ERP system, including planning, testing, and rollout.

You are an analytical powerhouse with a meticulous eye for detail, capable of quickly grasping complex financial and operational workflows. Your ability to document processes thoroughly and rapidly absorb new knowledge is exceptional, enabling you to take charge of critical functions with confidence. You possess excellent communication skills , allowing you to convey intricate financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders and build strong collaborative relationships across departments. Your proactive, problem‑solving mindset thrives in dynamic environments, and you are adept at managing multiple priorities and ensuring operational continuity.

Here’s what we think you need to succeed in this role:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in project controlling, financial analysis, or operations controlling, ideally within a dynamic agency or tech environment.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems; familiarity with database administration (e.g., Filemaker) is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage critical financial processes and swiftly learn new systems.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); German language skills are a valuable asset.
