The Role An opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team delivering major construction projects in Germany. The role will suit someone with experience in a main contracting environment who is comfortable managing commercial activities from procurement through to final account. You will work closely with project, site, and commercial leadership teams to control costs, manage subcontractors, and protect commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Manage commercial and financial performance of assigned projects Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including contract placement and administration Prepare and submit interim valuations, variations, and final accounts Monitor budgets, cost plans, and cash flow Carry out cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and internal reporting Assess, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risk Certify subcontractor applications and manage payments Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimisation Liaise with project teams, clients, and supply chain to resolve commercial issues Support and mentor junior commercial staff where applicable Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management Experience working for a main contractor on construction projects Strong commercial and contractual understanding Confident managing subcontractor accounts and cost reporting Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment Desirable Experience working on large-scale or technically complex projects Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT-style contract forms Previous experience working on projects in Germany or mainland Europe
