Open Source Software & COTS Technology Compliance Officer

• Participate in the establishment of an Open Source Program Office (OSPO) and contribute to the further development of processes and audit procedures for the selection and use of open source technologies
• Managing and coordinating license reviews and evaluations of open source software in projects and products
• Advising management and executives on the strategic and technical selection of current technologies, especially in the context of cloud technologies
• Advising development departments on the use of open source software and COTS software
• Leading interdisciplinary teams to define solution architectures and the use of open source software and COTS technologies. Creating well-founded recommendations for technology selection, taking into account license compatibility and risk assessment. Developing concepts, transition plans, and scenarios for the life cycle management of open source software and COTS products
• Helping to shape guidelines and governance structures
• Leading internal and external audits on the license compliance of the technologies used

• Completed degree (bachelor's/master's) in computer science, business informatics, software engineering, or comparable qualification
• Many years of professional experience in the use of COTS and open-source technologies in development projects and the definition of architectures, ideally in a regulated environment
• In-depth knowledge of OSS license models (e.g., GPL, MIT, Apache) and their legal implications
• Knowledge of copyright law and IT contract law
• Experience with open source compliance tools and CI/CD development processes
• Project management experience and high level of consulting expertise
• Strong interdisciplinary skills, in particular analytical skills, willingness to change, goal orientation, ability to cooperate, and persuasiveness
• Business fluent German and English, both written and spoken
