Regional Business Line Manager

Crane Flow Technologies GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, is part of Crane ChemPharma & Energy (CPE) within the Crane Process Flow Technologies (CPFT) business unit of Crane Co. CPFT is a global leader in highly engineered flow solutions, serving critical industries such as chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, water and wastewater, and general industrial markets.

We are looking for a Regional Business Line Manager for our DEPA® Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps and ELRO® Peristaltic pumps. These brands are trusted worldwide for their reliability, durability, and performance in demanding applications. These product lines are essential for transferring aggressive, abrasive, and viscous media in industries such as:

  • Chemical and Petrochemical Processing
  • Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology
  • Food and Beverage
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment
  • General Industrial Applications

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Implementation

  • Support in implementing annual strategic and operational plans for DEPA & ELRO product lines aligned with global direction.
  • Execute brand strategies and ensure consistent positioning in defined target markets.
  • Monitor and report progress on strategic initiatives within defined regions.

Market Analysis

  • Apply global market insights to regional actions; track competitive landscape and local market trends.
  • Assess and forecast regional market size, growth rates, and share positions
  • Maintain and analyse project win/loss database to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct local Voice of Customer (VOC) activities and share insights to support strategic decision-making.

New Product Launches

  • Identify and evaluate new product development ideas and opportunities.
  • Support global NPD strategy by managing regional implementation of new product launches.
  • Participate as a key stakeholder in a world-class 7-stage New Product Development process.
  • Manage the lifecycle of new product launches within the defined regions to achieve business objectives.

Customer and Sales Interface

  • Work closely with regional sales teams and channels to execute annual sales plans.
  • Coordinate local activities to achieve business objectives for new products.
  • Provide feedback on regional requirements and performance.

Marketing

  • Implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities aligned with global brand strategy.
  • Organize and execute exhibitions and events.
  • Define and communicate the brand and products’ value proposition.
  • Ensure training for both, internal and external, on products and applications.

Application and Training Development

  • Develop deep understanding of application/segment information and create product application training materials.

Business Model Execution

  • Apply global pricing and business model guidelines to the regional market.
  • Support sourcing and channel strategies in collaboration with the regional Sales Managers.
  • Monitor profitability and operational efficiency within the defined regions.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Educational and Industry Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success in a product management role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial products environment.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Proven track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategic plans and initiatives that drive growth and profitability.

Market Analysis:

  • Expertise in conducting full analysis of competitive landscapes, regional market economics, and industry indicators.
  • Experience in performing full analysis and projection of regional market size, growth rates, and current share positions.

New Product Launch:

  • Experience in identifying and researching new product development ideas and opportunities.
  • Ability to develop business cases for investment in new product development.
  • Participation as a key stakeholder in a world-class 7-stage New Product Development Process.

Customer and Sales Interface:

  • Experience interfacing with sales leadership, channels, and customers to determine annual sales plans, account management support, projects and prospects.
  • Proven ability to provide sales target opportunities by application and geography, and support these with product and “how to win” sales tools.

Communication and Customer Focus:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating complex business messages in German and English, including technical and business terms.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Relentless focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in German and English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
