About us

The Engineering Acoustics group conducts teaching and research in various areas of engineering acoustics, covering the entire chain from sound generation and sound propagation to sound perception. A particular focus is placed on noise emitted by traffic and machinery systems and its effects on humans and the environment. We offer an inclusive and appreciative working atmosphere within a committed and diverse team, numerous opportunities for further training, room for individual ideas, and mentoring by experienced researchers. Your profile

• Successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Diplom, or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or a field closely related to engineering acoustics
• Very good and in-depth knowledge in the field of engineering acoustics
• Good knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
• Fluid mechanics
• Solid mechanics
• Programming experience; knowledge of the Python programming language
• Ability to teach in German and/or English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
• Willingness and ability to work in a diverse team desirable
• Experience with acoustic measurements desirable
• Experience with numerical simulations is a plus
