We seek a research assistant holding a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or a related field (m/f/d)
Growth and characterization of high-quality graphene on SiC
We are offering a paid student assistant position at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research. The interface analysis group at the Max Planck Institute, led by Prof. Ulrich Starke, investigates the electronic, structural and chemical properties of thin films and 2D layers. Within the DFG‑funded research group FOR 5242, we utilize proximity coupling in 2D materials to tune the electronic properties of 2D layers. We use high‑quality graphene on SiC as a starting material and, by intercalation or on‑surface deposition, deliberately tune its electronic properties.
If you are interested, please send your CV, a brief motivation letter and your academic transcript to Kathrin Küster ( ).
