Position Overview

This position is part of the project "Modelling and Design Tools Review & Support" within the joint project "Challenges in Interferometer Noise and Control" for the Einstein Telescope R&D programme in Germany. The role focuses on review procedures, modelling, design and analysis of the Einstein Telescope instrument, ensuring repeatable and traceable analysis with a detector repository that stores all critical parameters with a unique version identifier.

Responsibilities

• Develop, set up and maintain a set of repositories and procedures for the Interferometer Division.
• Support scientific code reviews and develop/test scientific software.
• Implement structures for the Einstein Telescope instrument design following the FAIR principles.
• Coordinate closely with joint project partners and collaborators in the Einstein Telescope collaboration and organisation.
• Contribute to the full technical design report for the Einstein Telescope.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of the English language and the ability to communicate in an international team.
• Experience with research software development.
• Experience with Git and GitLab.
• High intrinsic motivation, individual responsibility, creative scientific thinking, and extensive social and team skills are desirable.
• Beneficial: experience in gravitational wave detection, software review, large research collaborations, laser interferometer modelling and design tools.
