Purpose of Position The position is established as a Sales Director, within the Consumer Retail & Fashion Industry, focusing as an individual contributor in the key geographies defined by the Global Head of Consumer Retail & Fashion, within the European Markets.
New Business Development – 100 % focus
Identify, strategically position PSA BDP’s core focus products, map out opportunities, and win new business aligned with the vertical strategy.
Maintain and adjust the pipeline list to ensure focused energies are quantified annually, at minimum.
Establish a targeted list of pipeline accounts that is globally aligned with the vertical as a priority, including:
Globally defined vertical target accounts
Regional target accounts that the direct reports identify as regionally strategic accounts (existing relationships/HQ location)
Country‑specific accounts that can drive immediate opportunity to realize new business wins
Be a subject‑matter expert within the Consumer Retail & Fashion industry space.
Existing Book of Business
Build and develop relationships with senior management of the company’s existing book of business.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with the corporate operational leadership team of the account and the account’s performance.
Proactively engage, develop and deploy new business sales opportunities to further develop the book of business within the account.
Strategically align with Global Leadership to champion the account and support customer satisfaction and continued partnership.
Lead System Demonstrator
Become fluent in presenting and holding deeper discussions into PSA BDP’s IT Suite of Tools.
OPEX Business Implementation Support
Engage, include and leverage the Product experts within PSA BDP to leverage opportunities towards customers in face‑to‑face meetings.
Liaise and engage with Regional and Country Management Teams for opportunities, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding of the customer’s needs across new opportunities.
Work with the OPEX Implementation team to ensure a smooth handover of new business wins and deploy a clearly defined implementation schedule, ensuring proper onboarding.
Vertical Strategy
Develop a regional‑specific pipeline that focuses on rapid growth and development of the vertical, specifically targeting global head offices in different regions.
Key Tasks
Establish and maintain the New Business Development deliverance strategy.
Deploy the verticals strategy to new customer base.
Maintain and own internal and external KPIs, recommend process improvements and adopt lean logistics practices and a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring KPIs are produced on time.
Meet with customers to drive relationship development, identify new business markets, and deploy that focused development approach to direct and indirect reports.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, conferences and seminars.
Identify potential gaps in existing procedures, systems, and tools.
Possess solid knowledge of international supply chain solutions and freight services.
Build strong relationships with the customer network to leverage introduction of PSA BDP.
Serve globally in the retail sector and possess experience in ocean freight and consolidation services.
Communicate cross‑functionally within a matrix organization and understand CFS warehouse operations.
Demonstrate discipline, maturity, customer orientation, teamwork, self‑motivation, flexibility, resilience, high result orientation, and customer focus.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills, networking and relationship building, and ability to make informed judgments and generate practical, timely solutions.
Ability to travel freely globally, with travel expected at up to 40 %.
Qualifications
Degree holder with at least 5 years of operational experience in a global forwarding/logistics company.
Minimum 2 years of experience in CFS warehousing operation, contract logistics and related matters.
Experience in 3PL and order/freight management operations.
Excellent command of English and local language.
