Sales Manager Steel Business (m/w/d)

The Product Manager is responsible for driving growth, international market expansion, and strategic development of the ESE steel product line. The role focuses strongly on global sales activities, including direct customer engagement, international field sales, and close collaboration with worldwide partners and subsidiaries. The Product Manager acts as a bridge between Sales, Business Development, Product Development, and key customers, ensuring strong global market presence and customer-centric product evolution.

Key Responsibilities

International Field Sales & Direct Customer Engagement

  • Conduct regular international field sales trips to existing and emerging markets, including customer visits across Europe
  • Build and maintain strong global key-account relationships and develop a robust international customer network within the steel industry.
  • Deliver worldwide product presentations, technical consultations, and on-site workshops in collaboration with regional sales teams.
  • Identify new international business opportunities and market needs through direct on-site engagement with customers, distributors, and partners.

International Sales Development & Market Expansion

  • Develop and implement region-specific sales strategies tailored to cultural, regulatory, and market-specific conditions.
  • Support international tender processes, price negotiations, and contract finalizations together with local sales units.
  • Analyze international competitors, market trends, and regional developments to derive actionable sales measures.
  • Strengthen global market presence by representing the company at international trade fairs, conferences, and industry events.

Collaboration with ESE Sister Companies

  • Functionally support all ESE sister companies in Europe and beyond in sales campaigns, product positioning, and customer engagement.
  • Conduct international sales trainings, cross-border workshops, and webinars to enhance global sales performance.
  • Ensure consistent global messaging, value propositions, and technical information across all regions.

Product Management with International Sales Insight

  • Feed global customer requirements and international market insights directly into product strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Engineering, and Production to address market-specific standards, regulations, and technical needs.
  • Manage international product launches, including global go-to-market planning and the creation of localized sales materials.

Global KPI Tracking & Market Performance Analysis

  • Analyze international sales data, margins, and market developments to identify regional opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare regional forecasts and develop action plans based on pipeline health and performance.
  • Monitor global industry trends, including geopolitical and economic developments affecting supply chains and customer demand.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in international B2B sales or product-focused international business development.
  • Ability to communicate and sell complex technical products to global industrial customers.
  • Proven experience in building international customer relationships and managing global accounts.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and intercultural communication skills.
  • High willingness to travel internationally.
  • Fluent English (C1) and German (B2) are required; additional languages (e.g., French, Swedish) are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, International Management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience international B2B sales and in product management
  • Experience within the steel industry, mechanical engineering, or industrial technical products is an advantage.
