Senior Backend Developer - Java/Kotlin at SAP Signavio FIT Collaborators (m/w/d)
As a Senior Backend Developer you will be part of a talented team, embracing agile principles and values.
What You’ll do: - Lead the harmonization of access control mechanisms across multiple integrated products, ensuring a consistent and secure user experience.
- Build backend foundations for future AI with clean APIs, solid data models, and strong team collaboration.
- Drive product development from ideation to data-driven improvements.
- Bootstrap, develop, maintain and operate new micro services and existing monolithic applications, following either traditional server-based or serverless principles.
- Partner with other teams and individuals across the organization to tackle intricate technical & business challenges.
- Uphold stringent security guidelines, safeguarding our operations and data.
- Maintain an outcome-focused mindset, unafraid to challenge ideas and push boundaries.
- Engage in open communication and feedback, contributing proactively to product enhancement and company growth.
What You Bring: - 5+ years of software developer experience, following agile methodologies.
- Experience with access management with a strong security focus, preferably within enterprise-scale or multi-tenant environments.
- Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) technologies and frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML).
- Passionate about fast iterations, test‑driven development, pair programming and pragmatic development approaches.
- Curious and proactive about using AI tools to boost developer experience, productivity, and how we build software.
- Solid experience in backend development, deep knowledge of Java and Kotlin and exposure to functional programming.
- Experience utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and associated cloud technologies (AWS, GCP or MS Azure).
- Hands‑on experience with relational databases, ideally MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience developing microservices, message‑and event‑driven architectures, and distributed systems patterns.
- Good cross‑team communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and drive architectural decisions that span multiple products.
- Ability to balance pragmatism and engineering excellence.
- Experience managing high‑volume or high‑risk projects with multiple stakeholder groups, creating clear project plans with milestones and timelines, and communicating updates promptly.
