Interim Legal Counsel – Corporate/Commercial (6 Month Contract)

Automotive / Manufacturing Sector | Europe (Remote) | Germany Preferred

We are supporting a global automotive business undergoing a complex transformation, which has created immediate demand for additional legal support across Europe.

This is a 6-month initial interim opportunity for a senior commercial lawyer to join a lean, high-performing team and provide hands‑on support during a critical period of transition.

The Role

You will operate as a core member of the European legal team, working closely with existing and external counsel to manage a broad range of commercial and corporate matters. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who is comfortable working at pace in an evolving, post-M&A environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a first point of contact for policy and procedural queries across the business following the acquisition
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
• Support strategic in‑sourcing of legal work currently handled by external counsel
• Provide legal support across multiple European entities with limited internal legal infrastructure
• Deliver pragmatic, business‑oriented legal advice across day‑to‑day operational matters

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer, ideally German‑qualified
• 10+ years’ experience, with strong grounding in commercial law
• Experience within the automotive or manufacturing sector preferred
• Proven ability to operate independently and deliver from day one
• Practical, solutions‑driven mindset with a strong focus on execution rather than management
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across jurisdictions

Location

Germany preferred. Open to candidates based elsewhere in Europe with relevant sector experience. Fully remote role with cross‑border exposure.
