Seniority: Vice President / Director / Managing Director (7+ years’ experience)
Our client is a global boutique investment banking and strategic advisory firm specialized in M&A, capital raising, and strategic consulting. With a presence across Frankfurt, Zurich, Panama City, and Malta, the firm serves clients operating in Healthcare, Critical Infrastructure, and innovative, high-growth business models. To drive the next phase of its expansion, the firm is seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Banker who has a proven track record of originating and executing complex transactions.
The successful candidate will take a central role in expanding the firm’s reach within its core verticals, leveraging deep sector expertise to win mandates and build long-term client relationships. This is a high-impact, visible role that requires a "rainmaker" mentality, blending technical M&A proficiency with the ability to source, pitch, and lead new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Origination:
Proactively source and secure new mandates in the Healthcare, Critical Infrastructure, or innovative business sectors. Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients.
Relationship Management:
Act as a trusted advisor to founders, corporate boards, and financial sponsors, maintaining long-term partnerships through high-level strategic counsel.
Execution Leadership:
Lead deal teams through the full transaction lifecycle, ensuring high-quality execution in M&A advisory and capital raising processes.
Sector Expertise:
Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more of the firm’s core verticals, providing proprietary insights that differentiate the firm in competitive pitch processes.
Strategic Advisory:
Provide high-value consulting to clients on growth strategies, business model refinement, and capital structure optimization.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and capital flows to identify emerging opportunities for the firm’s clients.
Brand Representation:
Act as a key ambassador for the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking forums, consistently enhancing the firm’s reputation.
Internal Collaboration:
Coordinate seamlessly across the firm’s international offices to leverage global resources and cross-border expertise for the benefit of local clients.
Candidate Requirements
Experience:
7+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or elite Strategic Advisory firms, with a demonstrable history of individual revenue generation.
Proven Origination:
A verifiable track record of sourcing and winning mandates. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to move beyond execution to lead the firm's business development efforts.
Domain Expertise:
Strong sector knowledge and an established network of relationships within at least one of the following: Healthcare, Critical Infrastructure (energy, transport, telecom), or innovative/tech-driven business models.
Transaction Execution:
Deep technical knowledge of deal structuring, valuation, and M&A processes, with the credibility to command the respect of sophisticated clients.
Commercial Acumen:
A sharp, entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working in a results-oriented, boutique environment where individual contribution directly impacts firm growth.
Communication Excellence:
Exceptional pitching and storytelling skills. Ability to articulate complex value propositions to C-level executives and business owners.
Network:
An established Rolodex of industry players, potential buy-side/sell-side partners, and decision-makers within the target verticals.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders, lead execution teams, and drive progress under tight deadlines.
Resilience:
Adaptable and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-moving, and global firm culture.
Location:
Based in Frankfurt, with flexibility to travel for client meetings and regional business development as required.
