The Senior Key Account Manager is fully accountable for the strategic development, commercial performance, and long-term partnership with EDEKA across the full portfolio. The role combines strategic account leadership with strong operational execution, ensuring sustainable growth, optimal profitability, and excellent in-store execution across the EDEKA organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the national key account strategy for EDEKA, including annual business planning, joint business plans, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Full responsibility for turnover, margin, trade spend, and forecast accuracy for the account
  • Lead all commercial negotiations, including pricing, promotions, listings, distribution expansion, and contracts
  • Develop and execute customer-specific strategies aligned with the brand’s positioning and portfolio priorities
  • Drive flawless execution in collaboration with category management, supply chain, marketing, and field sales
  • Manage complexity within the EDEKA system (national organization, regional structures, and wholesalers)
  • Analyze market, shopper, and performance data to derive insights and translate them into concrete actions
  • Act as a senior commercial sparring partner internally and externally, representing the company at eye level with senior customer stakeholders

The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

Experience and professional qualifications required for the role.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Key Account Manager or Senior Key Account Manager in FMCG
  • Strong negotiation experience with demonstrable commercial impact
  • Solid understanding of category management, pricing, and trade spend mechanics
  • University degree in business administration, economics, or a related field
