Stryker

(Senior) Project Manager R&D (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

CMF's Patient Specific Solutions team specializes in mass‑producing products that are entirely unique — each implant individually designed and manufactured to serve a single patient. As part of our Project Management Office for Patient Specific Solutions (PSS), you’ll play a key role in driving innovation that directly improves patient care, leading diverse teams, managing complex projects, and shaping the next generation of patient‑specific products and solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Work across a mix of hardware, software, and process improvement projects – managing initiatives that shape both our products and the way we manufacture.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between R&D, Process Development (AO), QA, and other key functions.
  • Lead the team with autonomy in the development of the project charter and management plan.
  • Direct, monitor, and control projects; evaluate trade‑offs within scope, timeline, resources, and budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, manage, and own project scope.
  • Create a detailed Work Breakdown Structure and track the project schedule.
  • Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart, analyze the critical path, major workstreams, and intersecting milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional managers to define the project budget and maintain costs within that budget.
  • Develop a risk‑management plan, identify and analyze risks, and monitor risk‑response actions.
  • Estimate, acquire, and assign cross‑functional project resources.
  • Facilitate alignment on roles, deliverables, and work packages across contributors to ensure clarity and effective collaboration.
  • Possess visibility across multiple functions and influence strategic decisions through strong project leadership and PMO best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that values proactive problem‑solving, continuous learning, and open communication, shaping delivery of innovation.

What You’ll Need

  • PMP or equivalent preferred.
  • BS or equivalent with 3+ years of work experience, capable of building successful relationships with internal and external personnel across departments and understanding quality systems.
  • High emotional intelligence, calm under pressure, and adept in conflict resolution.
  • Drive results to support the business, even under demanding timelines, stepping up to take on additional responsibility where appropriate.
  • Adept at team management, selecting the right people for the right tasks, maintaining morale, and recognizing contributions.
  • Influence without direct authority, making others eager to join your team.
  • Incorporate end‑user feedback throughout the project lifecycle, communicating changes, updates, and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Understand how goals fit into broader organizational objectives and align schedule and priorities accordingly.
  • Keep the customer at the heart of work.
  • Exercise good judgment, weighing benefits and risks to make sound decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Maintain a growth mindset – learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
  • Familiar with agile project management methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and able to apply them within a corporate environment typically driven by Waterfall processes.
  • Experience balancing hybrid project approaches to support efficient delivery of both hardware and software medical device projects preferred.
  • Background in process development or process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) considered a plus.

Preferred Skills / Engineering Tools

  • PMP or equivalent preferred.
  • Preference for experience balancing hybrid project approaches (Waterfall and Agile) to deliver hardware and software medical device projects efficiently.
  • Background in software, hardware, and/or process development preferred.
