Senior Regional Counsel (m/f/d) – Maternity Leave (6 months)

If so, come and join EPAM as a Senior Regional Counsel based in Germany in a remote work environment, and play an integral part in the continued growth of EPAM's commercial deal pursuits as well as general legal issues that arise in EPAM’s DACH businesses: this is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-commercial lawyer to obtain further experience working in a fast paced, exciting global IT Services organization.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and revise a wide variety of commercial contracts primarily in Germany, focusing on IT software services agreements (projects), public tenders, consulting agreements, statements of work, NDAs, Data Processing Agreements, as well as subcontractor and alliance agreements and other in-bound commercial agreements
• Support the sales/business team from a legal standpoint with RFPs
• Liaise with internal business clients, management and other members of the global Legal team to efficiently close deals
• Lead and assist with various special projects as assigned such as: developing templates and standard positions; improving contract management approaches and educating internal teams to assure conformity and consistency in application of relevant policies and procedures
• Assist on GDPR compliance policies and procedures, working with cross-functional partners when needed and providing proactive guidance specifically on privacy and data protection laws, regulations, industry standards, self-regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts, including external counsel, when needed
• Prepare management reporting to summarize status of contract negotiations, disputes and provide information to aid in management decision-making
• Implement and conduct training on policies, programs and contractual approaches

Requirements

• Fully qualified lawyer or business lawyer in Germany
• Generalist background and minimum of 8 years of extensive professional experience in an internationally oriented legal department, at a well-known IT services vendor, a renowned commercial law firm or consulting
• Solid knowledge of German law, especially contract law, and experience with modern legal tools are an advantage
• Demonstrable experience of negotiating software development services agreements
• Fluent spoken and written English and German
• Experience of managing competing demands and working under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and a highly self-motivated working style
• Experience in commercial IT services essential
