Social Media Community Manager & Moderator - Korean

Remote (Freelance) Founded 24 years ago, Social Element is a global, independent full‑service social media agency committed to making social media safer, more engaging, and impactful. We are partnering with a leading nonprofit in the travel and tourism industry and are looking for a native‑level Korean Community Manager to excite and engage a Korean audience about California’s culture and attractions.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow online communities across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms; ensure timely, professional responses to inquiries and comments.
  • Act as a moderator, keeping conversations welcoming, judgement‑free, and inclusive.
  • Collaborate with client teams to maintain brand voice and tone; adapt to high‑volume, fast‑paced projects.
  • Provide coverage during essential days (Tues–Fri and weekends) with shifts at 8 pm (UK time) for moderation and 11 pm (UK time) for community management.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent Korean writing and speaking skills.
  • Advanced English language proficiency for internal communication.
  • Experience in engagement, customer care, or community management (brand or agency).
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube) and current trends.
  • Comfort with digital tools such as Sprinklr, Social Sprout, scheduling systems, and Google Chat.
  • Interest in California culture and ability to learn its product offering.
  • Self‑motivated, remote‑work‑ready, with a structured approach to productivity.

IT Policy & PC Requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 11 or macOS X 13+ with admin rights.
  • Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended).
  • Secure home broadband: ≥20 Mbps download, ≥1 Mbps upload (recommended 50 Mbps / 5 Mbps).
  • 40 GB available HDD (SSD preferred).
  • Webcam and headset.
  • Android or iOS device for 2FA.
  • Chromebook, Linux, and Cloud VMs are not supported; local virtual machines require explicit approval and documentation.
