DATAGROUP Enterprise is looking for a skilled Java/Oracle Developer to support our ongoing technology refresh and migration initiatives. This mid-level position offers remote flexibility and the opportunity to work on forward‑looking IT projects that involve modernising legacy systems and migrating to cloud and open‑source platforms.

Role Overview

Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient JAVA-based frontend as well as Java components and Oracle PL/SQL procedures for the ETL process, contribute to the migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL, collaborate with cross‑functional teams on application modernisation and cloud migration efforts, and ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient JAVA-based frontend as well as Java components and Oracle PL/SQL procedures for the ETL process.
• Contribute to the migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on application modernisation and cloud migration efforts.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in Java development and object‑oriented programming.
• Strong skills in Oracle PL/SQL and ideally some exposure to PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with IBM DataStage is a plus.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, Git, and modern development practices.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.

Additional Skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – BigQuery, Astronomer, CloudSQL
• IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D) – especially for ETL and DataStage migration
• Scheduling systems like Airflow or Astronomer
