To support this agenda, the group is strengthening its central Strategy & Corporate Development function, which acts as the primary advisor to executive management on strategy formulation, performance initiatives, and inorganic opportunities.
Role Overview
The firm is seeking a Manager / Senior Manager – Strategy & Corporate Development to join its Berlin-based team. This role offers broad exposure to senior leadership and direct involvement in shaping the future direction of the group.
You will work on high-priority strategic initiatives across the organisation, combining analytical depth with hands-on project execution, and acting as a key interface between management, business units, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the formulation and execution of group-wide strategy , translating corporate objectives into concrete initiatives across business lines and functions
- Lead structured analyses of market trends, competitive positioning, regulatory developments, and client segments to inform strategic priorities
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritise growth opportunities including new products, partnerships, distribution models, and geographic or segment expansion
- Develop and assess strategic options and business cases , including financial modelling, scenario analysis, and risk/return evaluation
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects from scoping through execution, ensuring disciplined governance, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes
- Prepare high-quality decision materials for executive management and supervisory bodies , synthesising complex topics into clear recommendations
- Support corporate development and M&A-related activities , including target screening, strategic assessment, valuation analysis, and coordination of due diligence
- Act as an internal project lead, coordinating external advisors such as investment banks, consultants, and legal counsel where relevant
- Partner closely with business units to drive performance improvement initiatives , monitor implementation progress, and track value creation
- Contribute to the development of the group’s strategic planning processes , KPI frameworks, and long-term financial targets
- Serve as a trusted internal advisor to senior stakeholders on strategic, commercial, and organisational topics
Candidate Profile
- 3–6 years of relevant professional experience in one of the following:
- Strategy consulting with a focus on Financial Institutions Group (FIG)
- Corporate strategy or corporate development within a bank or financial services institution
- Investment banking (M&A/FIG) or transaction advisory with exposure to financial services
- Strong understanding of the banking and broader financial services landscape , including business models, regulatory considerations, and value drivers
- Excellent analytical and problem-structuring capabilities with experience developing strategic recommendations
- Solid financial modelling skills and familiarity with valuation and business case development
- Experience working on strategy projects, transformation initiatives, or transaction-related topics within FIG
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality output in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders
- Pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset with a high degree of personal ownership
- Fluency in German and English is essential
