V2X has an opportunity for a System Administrator II, located in Sembach, Germany. The System Administrator II will carry out their duties in support of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and the United States Army Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC).
Responsibilities
- System Administration of Active Directory: Provide day‑to‑day system administration and technical support for all NIPR Active Directory operations, including managing OU structure, user and computer accounts, security groups, permissions, and Group Policy Objects.
- Installation, Maintenance and Operation of Server Platforms: Install, configure, and maintain Army‑approved server operating systems, diagnose and resolve software and hardware conflicts, review event logs, monitor performance, recommend hardware upgrades, maintain service packs and patches, configure virtual servers, resolve application conflicts, and implement SSL and DOD PKI.
- System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM): Create, test, and deploy 3rd‑party software packages, manage SCCM console for client/system faults, assist with troubleshooting imaging problems, deploy OSD images, manage SCUP deployments, generate compliance reports, and coordinate with the 7th Signal Command SCCM working group.
- DHCP: Manage DHCP server, including configuration and maintenance of IP scopes.
- Enterprise Email Administration: Manage Army user account requests for Army 365 service on NIPR/SIPR and Army NPE account requests for AMHS123.
- SMTP Services: Coordinate with Army RNEC or equivalent for configuration and maintenance of SMTP services for units requiring “to” email capability.
- Trouble Ticketing System: Monitor and resolve all system administration trouble tickets entered in the Government‑provided ticketing system.
- Storage Management: Provide full system administration of file storage devices, manage NTFS permissions, replicate data to disaster recovery sites, troubleshoot client connectivity, upgrade firmware, and monitor logs and disk space.
- Database Administration: Support all systems’ database servers and instances, refresh designs, tune databases, maintain interfaces, create and maintain full‑text indexes, monitor usage and size, and archive databases as required.
- Backup and Recovery Services: Manage system backups, restores, and recoveries for servers and storage, ensure data replication to disaster recovery sites, manage protection hardware/software, document system design and procedures, and maintain DISA STIG documentation.
- Network Security (GATES): Ensure IA compliance for RGATES and DGATES, configure servers, manage GATES accounts, install HHTI configuration manager, manage CAISI radio and firewall configurations.
Qualifications
- Education / Certifications: One‑year related experience may be substituted for one‑year of education, if degree is required.
- Education:
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- High School + 11 years of experience
- Bachelor + 7 years experience
- Master + 3 years experience
- Certificates:
- DoD ‑M IAT‑II
- CCNA Security
- CSA+
- GICSP
- GSEC
- Security + CE
- SSCP
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in system administration.
