System design engineer

We are searching for a Power semiconductor test system design engineer! As part of the research team you will be working on understanding new semiconductor failure modes or tests and create concepts for first-of-a-kind reliability test systems and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Research of semiconductor failure modes and create concepts to efficiently stimulate failure modes and monitor degradation parameters.
  • Network with cooperative- and academic research groups around the world to drive understanding and implementation of new test methods.
  • Contribute to ECPE / AQG-324 standardizations and participate in background discussions.
  • Use your understanding to design first-of-a-kind test systems and verify the intended failure mode on semiconductors.
  • Representing Emerson at conferences, workshops, and standardization working groups.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, information technology, mechatronics, microtechnology, nanoscience, physics or a comparable course of study.
  • Experience in parameter measurement and reliability testing of power semiconductors including wide bandgap materials.
  • Passion for unique technical challenges, technology and working independently.
  • Not all from this list – we are all fast learners and enjoy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with reliability testing, AQG324/JC70/AEC-Q101 or similar.
  • Expertise in the practical implementation of power semiconductor reliability tests, especially power cycling.
  • Background of Semiconductor Power Module design, characterization or testing.
  • Understanding of EV Powertrain, especially Inverter specific.
