Technical Sales Specialist (m/f/t) Flowserve

Job Summary

The Technical Specialist – Severe Service serves as a key technical resource supporting regional sales engineers and promoting the Flow Control Division’s (FCD) severe service product line. This role focuses on delivering expert guidance on product selection, application engineering, and market strategy to help expand the adoption of severe service valves, including Argus metal‑seated ball valves, Valtek severe service control valves, Durco high‑performance plug and butterfly valves, and other Flowserve technologies. By partnering closely with customers and internal teams, this position helps drive growth, strengthen relationships, and address complex technical and commercial challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong customer relationships by collaborating with sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Work with sales to develop strategic plans for key accounts and provide technical and market insights.

Act as a subject matter expert, guiding sales teams in product selection and application recommendations for severe service solutions.

Coordinate with engineering teams to support engineered-to-order (ETO) projects and customized valve solutions.

Contribute to product‑line growth initiatives by aligning customer needs with global product strategies.

Support new product launches and promote product knowledge across sales channels and customer groups.

Help resolve both commercial and technical issues to ensure a positive customer experience.

Assist in preparing and updating targeted account strategies.

Maintain accurate opportunity and account information in the CRM system (FlowForce).

Identify and elevate customer or project risks that may affect business performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration, with 8–10 years of related experience.

Deep technical understanding of the refinery and petrochemical sectors, especially severe service applications.

Strong technical knowledge of isolation valves, control valves, and other flow control technologies.

Self‑motivated and innovative, with strong planning, organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with a customer‑focused mindset.

Ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and organizational levels.

Familiarity with industry standards relevant to Flowserve products.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
