Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Value Stream Leader is responsible for managing supervisors, engineering leaders and/or individual contributors in a matrix environment, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management and meaningful career development conversations.
Communicates direction for Multi-Family Supply Chain Manufacturing processes to supervisors, engineers, and individual contributors, and ensures methods align with organizational goals and objectives.
Develops policies and procedures relating to the operational structure and customer-tailored Supply Chain solutions to support key departmental goals and objectives.
Collaborates with multiple departments to coordinate the compliance of Supply Chain Manufacturing project plans, procedures, and rules of engagement with the Company’s safety, quality, and federal and state regulatory standards.
Responsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets.
Integrates JnJs Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.
Responsibilities

- Manages Supervisors and Engineering leaders, and/or individual contributors in a matrix environment, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management and meaningful career development conversations.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to coordinate Manufacturing Assembly improvement initiatives.
- Owns the end-to-end performance of the assigned manufacturing area
- Works with the training team to develop programs to facilitate cross training of manufacturing personnel, employee development, and quality systems compliance.
- Ensures compliance with ISO13485, GMP, FDA, OSHA regulations
- Ensures timely delivery of product per agreed-to build plan to internal and finished goods customers
- Monitors work, alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions, controls flow of work to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment
- Provides prompt problem solving for key issues, driving from root cause identification, containment, problem resolution, and ensuring repeat issues are avoided
- Acts as a team role model and change agent. Positively leads and influences team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
- Owns and monitors areas KPIs and works proactively to improve those KPIs, including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Delivery, cost and inventory.
- Ensures adherence to production targets and on-time delivery commitments.
- Fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Supports New Product Introduction initiatives and advocates for Manufacturing optimization in design and process development.
- Maintains accurate inventory metrics via cycle count, initiates and demonstrates discipline in material movements in and out of work orders.
- Partner with site quality to ensure products are manufactured in compliance with regulatory and quality system requirements. Drive continuous improvement by reducing non-conformances, leading and supporting CAPA effective closure and Internal audit observations on time. Properly managing risk and ensuring all manufacturing processes deliver the targeted yield, compliance and customer safety.
- Projects a clear vision for the future of the operation, with a key seat at the table in strategic discussions/decisions with Ops strategy lead and senior Ops leadership.
- Responsible for personal and company compliance with Federal, State, Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Experience And Education
- BS in engineering or business, MBA or MS preferred
- Minimum 6 years related work experience and at least 3 years of leadership experience. Medical device experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications/Licenses And Affiliations
- Experience managing compliance associated with quality, regulatory, and safety policies
- Desired experience transitioning product and process change into manufacturing operations
- Desired knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback, coach/mentor, and develop individuals
- Knowledge of manufacturing operational systems, best practices, processes, and technology
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information through the hierarchy
- Model the Abiomed/J&J values and culture as an ambassador
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP knowledge desired
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Planning/Production Execution in SAP S4 ERP and EWM
- Ability to exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
The anticipated base pay range for this position is 78.300 EUR to 135.700 EUR.
In addition to base pay, we offer benefits including an annual bonus with target based on pay grade/location, vacation days, parental leave, bereavement leave, caregiver leave, volunteer leave, wellbeing reimbursement, and programs for financial, physical and mental health.
