Accountant

In this role you safeguard Helsing's financial integrity as the backbone of reporting. You own the close processes, manage complex ledgers and intercompany activity, and ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS. You will streamline GL processes and support external audits in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment. This position sits at the intersection of finance and strategic governance in a mission-driven defence tech company.

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
• Prepare and post complex GL entries including accruals, deferred revenue, prepayments, and intercompany transactions
• Perform and review critical balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing adjustments, loans, and multi-currency reconciliations
• Assist in preparing consolidated statutory financial statements and regulatory filings (local GAAP and IFRS)
• Coordinate the annual external audit and manage PBC documentation and audit queries
• Continuously evaluate and optimise GL processes, chart of accounts, and financial systems
• Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to internal controls and financial policies across the organisation
• Drive efficiency through process improvements and automation of manual tasks

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with 5–7 years post-qualification experience
• Proven track record in a complex, multi-entity GL environment
• Strong understanding of local GAAP and IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
• Extensive experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Workday) and advanced Excel modelling
• Meticulous attention to detail with fully supported, reconciled balance sheets
• Excellent time-management and ability to prioritise during tight close cycles
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
