Job Description

• Achieves best market conditions
• Actively influences the sourcing process through:
  • Early supplier involvement
  • Supplier selection
  • Support on technical review with selected suppliers and internal functions
  • Sourcing decision
  • Bundles the whole demand of Continental Automotive for own category
  • Contribute the purchasing strategy to company product strategy
• Continuous cost reduction:
  • Supports redesign in cost reduction programs
  • Drives improvement programs with suppliers and internal functions
• Data maintenance:
  • Ensures in‑time implementation of correct data in the respective IT systems; responsible for monthly controlling and correction of local data and target achievement
  • Monitors all sourcing data in system and closes on time
• Material and supplier strategy:
  • Supports development of material and supplier strategy
  • Conducts market analysis
  • Drives the strategy definition process with cross‑functional partners
  • Ensures that Continental’s requirements are reflected in the strategy
  • Documents and implements the strategy in all BUs worldwide
  • Supports GCM with BASE evaluation and creation of the strategic SCF
• Negotiation:
  • Drives annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive
  • Negotiates with suppliers
  • Applies negotiation concepts (such as Advanced negotiation concept) to actively support and execute bundling within the respective category
  • Negotiates non‑conformance cost with suppliers

Qualifications

• Education / Certification: University degree in Technical studies or relevant professional experience
• Professional Experience: Variety of Functions, Variety of Business, General Management Experience
• Several years of experience in different purchasing functions
• Leadership Experience: Experience in working in international matrix organizations
• Intercultural / International Experience:
  • Capability to negotiate and operate with different cultures
  • Experience in working with international teams on Purchasing issues
  • Understanding of different foreign cultures (NAFTA / Asia, several European cultures)
