Area Sales Manager (Pharma Packaging Machinery) - Northeast Germany

CSG Talent has been retained on a confidential search for a high-growth Area Sales Manager to develop and expand a territory within the pharma packaging machinery/automation market.

This is a field-based, customer-facing role combining new business development, strategic account management, and technical solution selling, working closely with engineering and project teams to deliver tailored machinery/automation solutions and support customers through the full sales cycle.

What you'll do

• Grow a regional territory: develop existing accounts and win new customers across OEMs, end-users, and system integrators
• Run a full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery/needs analysis, proposal creation, negotiation, and contract close
• Consultative / technical selling: understand production processes, identify optimisation opportunities, and shape solutions with internal engineering teams
• Support customers end-to-end, including technical visits to HQ and involvement through project execution phases (installation/commissioning support)
• Track pipeline, forecasting and activity in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
• Provide market intelligence on applications, trends, and competitor activity

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years B2B sales experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting (capital equipment / machinery / automation strongly preferred)
• Demonstrable success managing complex, consultative sales processes
• Strong technical aptitude (ability to discuss machinery, processes, and configurations credibly with operations/engineering stakeholders)
• Confident negotiator with solid commercial judgement and problem‑solving skills
• Comfortable operating autonomously in the field while collaborating with cross‑functional internal teams
• CRM proficiency (ideally Microsoft Dynamics)
• Fluent German + English (written and spoken)
