Associate - Investment Banking (Frankfurt)

Role Overview

Jefferies is seeking a high‑performing Associate to join its Investment Banking team in Frankfurt. The Associate will play a key role in the execution of M&A, capital markets, and strategic advisory transactions for corporate and sponsor clients across Germany and the broader DACH region. This role offers significant client exposure, responsibility from day one, and close interaction with senior bankers in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of M&A transactions, from origination through closing
• Build and review financial models, including valuation, merger, LBO, and scenario analyses
• Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and information memoranda to a high professional standard
• Coordinate due diligence processes, working with clients, legal advisors, accountants, and internal stakeholders
• Assist in the drafting and negotiation support of transaction documentation
• Contribute to business development efforts, including market mapping, company analysis, and idea generation
• Mentor and oversee the work of Analysts, ensuring accuracy, rigor, and development of junior talent
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and client strategies

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in investment banking and M&A advisory
• Strong technical skills in financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and accounting
• Demonstrated experience working on live transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, commercial judgement, and problem‑solving skills
• Fluency in German and English is essential

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience covering German or DACH clients
• Exposure to sponsor‑backed transactions
• International experience or cross‑border deal exposure
• Progress toward, or completion of, professional qualifications
