About the Role

The role involves financial model and business case ownership, end-to-end M&A management, and supporting various teams to ensure sound investment decisions and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Model and Business Case ownership: Create, update, and maintain financial models (PV, Wind, BESS) for all investment decisions; prepare business cases by coordinating with internal teams such as Commercial, Development, Engineering, Tax, Finance, etc; run scenarios and sensitivities to support sound decision‑making.
  • End-to-end M&A ownership: Source and evaluate new investment opportunities and execute selected projects providing overall transaction coordination (project team management, due diligence, external advisor coordination, valuation provision, contract review and negotiation support).
  • Contribution to Zelestra’s “client first” strategy: Support our Commercial team to assess pricing and returns for new opportunities.
  • Evaluation of the development pipeline: Assist Business Development team in evaluating the existing portfolio, co‑development activities, and early‑stage project optimization.
  • Support for the Structured Finance team: Contribute to project finance structuring by modelling financing options and supporting lender discussions (e.g. debt sizing, cash flow distributions).
  • Governance and Processes: Prepare materials for investment committees and executive boards; help build internal tools and templates, and support documentation of best practices.
  • Reporting: Assist central corporate departments within Zelestra with reporting activities and deliver input from the German business unit.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in financial modelling and valuation, ideally within the renewable energy sector or similar industries; first experience in M&A or project finance is a plus.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset, structured and diligent working style, and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ideally some experience in project coordination or execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management and intercultural communication skills paired with excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Hands‑on, resilient, and adaptable in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
  • Team‑oriented, reliable, and self‑driven with a high level of ownership.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in project finance or M&A.
