Associate - Syndicated Finance

Our client is a leading European Corporate & Investment Bank who are hiring an Associate for their Syndicated Finance team in Frankfurt.

Role Responsibilities

• Analyse corporate clients’ business models, capital structures, and financial strategies to support informed decision‑making
• Conduct peer benchmarking and position companies within their industries and adjacent sectors
• Develop high‑quality financing pitch books in collaboration with internal teams
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including cash flow analysis and forward‑looking projections
• Draft business opportunity memoranda (BOM) for submission to senior management
• Prepare transaction requests, including risk assessments, peer analysis, structuring, and profitability evaluation, as well as base and stress case scenarios
• Coordinate the credit approval process, working closely with internal stakeholders
• Support the drafting, coordination, and negotiation of mandate letters and facility agreements
• Assist Loan Syndicate and Sales teams throughout the syndication process, including preparing information memoranda and managing investor Q&A

Requirements & Experience

• A strong academic background with an above‑average degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related discipline
• 3–4 years of experience in Acquisition Finance, Structured Finance, Corporate Finance, or Debt Advisory within a corporate or investment banking environment
• Solid understanding of banking and capital markets products, including M&A, ECM, and debt and equity capital markets
• Strong analytical capabilities, particularly in credit analysis and financial modelling
• A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple product lines in an international environment
• A proactive, flexible self‑starter with high levels of motivation, responsiveness, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Fluency in German
