BESS Strategy & Advisory Electrical Engineer

In this role you advise clients on the full lifecycle of grid-connected battery energy storage systems. You translate technical complexity into clear, decision-ready recommendations and deliver studies that withstand scrutiny from developers, utilities, lenders, insurers, and authorities. You work with cross-functional teams to shape feasibility, grid connection, and commissioning strategies. Your work supports sustainable energy transitions and practical, compliant outcomes.

• Lead or contribute to feasibility studies, grid connection strategies, and concept design reports; conduct workshops and turn requirements into clear scopes and deliverables
• Provide expert guidance on MV/HV interfaces, protection philosophies, and BESS integration into networks; support grid studies and translate results into client decisions
• Review OEM/EPC proposals, define technical scopes, support tender evaluations, and ensure alignment with grid codes; contribute to FAT/SAT planning and acceptance
• Produce high-quality outputs (reports, calculations, specifications, risk logs) and maintain a technical risk register with mitigations and verification plans
• Deliverables ownership: feasibility reports, grid compliance roadmaps, tender specs, technical due diligence and risk registers, and EMS/PPC functional briefs

• Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems (BSc/MSc)
• Several years’ experience in grid-connected assets (BESS, renewables, substations, industrial power)
• Client-facing experience with external stakeholders
• Proficiency in written and spoken German and English
• Willingness to travel
