Bioprocess Engineer, Manufacturing Technology (m/f/d)

You will drive process transfers and industrialization of new strains from development to production, enabling scalable fermentation and bioscience applications. Working within a collaborative Manufacturing Technology team at the Niebüll site, you will push continuous improvement across the manufacturing network and support regional responsibilities. You will tackle process challenges, lead root-cause analyses, and collaborate with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure successful knowledge transfer. • Manage inter-site process transfers to ensure readiness and smooth implementation
• Industrialize new strains and support scale-up from development to commercial manufacturing
• Drive continuous improvement for production portfolio, process performance, and cost efficiency
• Identify and implement sustainable process improvements at manufacturing scale
• Participate in global Manufacturing Technology networks to align with technology, supply, and business goals
• Lead root cause analysis for process-related issues
• Collaborate with Process R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure project execution and knowledge transfer
• Monitor key performance indicators and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Support capital investment projects with process expertise and data

• Master's degree or Engineering degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in bioprocess engineering in industrial or pilot-scale manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of industrial microbiology, fermentation technologies, and downstream processing operations
• Knowledge of unit operations including fermentation, centrifugation, membrane filtration, cryogenic freezing, and lyophilization
• Proven track record in leading process improvements and managing technical projects
• Understanding of process equipment including pumps, valves, instrumentation, piping systems, and utilities
• Practical knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics in industrial production
• Proficiency in data-driven approaches and digital tools to improve process performance, quality, and cost efficiency
• Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to travel regionally to support sites and projects
