In this role you deliver and automate Windows builds, packaging, deployments and patch management for EUMETSAT’s ground-segment systems. You will work within the Build and Deployment Service Team to maintain standardised, automated workflows and support vendor deliveries. The position involves coordinating with projects and partners on Windows build strategies, and ensuring secure, high-availability operations. You will apply your Windows expertise to automate installations, patching and software releases at scale, enabling reliable service delivery.

• Perform ticket-based Windows builds, packaging, deployments and activations on established systems
• Maintain automated Windows installation mechanisms and centralised offline patch management using WSUS or Intune
• Create and maintain build/packaging/deployment implementations for Windows software and data releases and patches with Ansible
• Administer and troubleshoot Windows systems including PowerShell automation, registry and AD tasks
• Advise projects on Windows build/versioning strategies and assess delivery and acceptance-test documentation
• Resolve anomaly reports and provide user support including access issues

• Essential Windows system administration experience
• Advanced PowerShell, registry and Active Directory skills
• Understanding of software configuration management and change processes
• Experience with automated/unattended OS installation and offline patch management
• Proficiency with WSUS and Intune or equivalents
• Experience with Ansible for software provisioning and deployment
• Knowledge of build environments/tools (Ant, Maven, autoconf/automake, make)
• Experience with version control systems (SVN, Git, GitLab)
• Experience packaging formats (MSI, NuGet, EXE)
• Scripting, networking, distributed apps and TCP/IP services
• VMware administration and troubleshooting
• Security knowledge: hardening, secure architecture, vulnerability testing and tools
• Experience in large-scale production environments with HA requirements
• Knowledge of C/C++, C#, Java; container tech (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes); OpenText Dimensions CM; MySQL/Oracle; network services (NIS, LDAP, NFS, DNS, SNMP, FTP, NTP)
• Strong documentation and English communication skills
• University degree (Master's or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience
