Overview

All genders welcome. We are looking for a Business Area Manager – EMEA for Water Line Integrity at our Wietmarschen‑Lohne location. The role includes hands‑on ownership of building and running the EMEA business on the commercial and operational side, focusing on sales, business development and delivery of our explanation‑heavy inspection and integrity services.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Water Line Integrity business from early stage to scalable, profitable operation.
• Drive sales and business development: identify target regions, win new customers, manage key accounts, prepare and negotiate proposals, and convert opportunities into repeat business.
• Own end‑to‑end commercial and operational delivery of services – from acquisition through project close‑out – ensuring fast turnaround, reliable execution and high customer satisfaction.
• Apply, run and continuously improve execution and project processes in line with guidelines from Business Field Management and the CEO Realization.
• Translate regional goals into tactical actions, including customer prioritization, target accounts, pricing input and pipeline management, and deliver against clear targets for order intake, revenue, margin, utilization and on‑time delivery.
• Build, lead and develop a small, high‑performing team, staying hands‑on alongside them.
• Ensure consistent, value‑driven market messaging and key customer communication in line with regional and group guidance.
• Proactively manage delivery risks, remove roadblocks, and act as first point of contact for execution‑related issues.
• Manage the regional Business Area budget, including forecasting, monitoring and corrective actions to hit financial and operational KPIs.
• Collaborate with application engineering to ensure technical solutions meet commercial requirements and win customer acceptance.
• Work with Business Field Management, venture incubation and support functions to align on capacities, priorities and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial and/or operational experience in B2B services or an industrial environment (sales, business development, account management, project or operations management).
• Ideally first responsibility for a customer portfolio, a project area or a small team; experience in utilities, water infrastructure or critical infrastructure is a plus.
• Technical background and technology understanding; experience selling or delivering explanation‑heavy services.
• Hands‑on, doer/maker mindset and ability to work close to customers and projects.
• Practical understanding of commercial steering (pricing, margin, budgeting, forecasting) combined with strong analytical skills.
• Motivation and experience building and scaling a business and a team from early stages.
• Strong customer orientation and stakeholder management skills with confidence to handle daily escalations.
• Excellent communication in German and English; additional languages and willingness to travel within EMEA are advantageous.
