Overview

Our client is an innovative engineering organisation operating within the aerospace sector, focused on the design, development, certification, and manufacture of advanced propulsion systems and associated technologies. Working within a highly regulated environment, the business delivers cutting-edge solutions that support demanding aviation and defence applications.

We are currently supporting the search for an experienced Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) to join a major avionics software programme. This position will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle of a significant software modification project.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the role of EASA Panel 10 Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) for a major software change programme.
• Provide regulatory oversight and compliance guidance throughout the verification activities associated with engine control software.
• Collaborate closely with avionics and software engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable certification requirements.
• Review, approve, and sign off certification and airworthiness documentation related to software development and verification activities.
• Support the planning, execution, and maintenance of certification programmes in partnership with the airworthiness function.
• Conduct periodic compliance assessments and audits against relevant aerospace standards and regulations.
• Evaluate adherence to industry standards including:
• DO-160G
• DO-178C
• DO-254
• ARP4754A/B
• ARP4761
• Assist engineering teams in preparing for regulatory authority reviews, audits, and Stages of Involvement (SOI) activities.
• Act as a key point of contact for certification and compliance matters across the programme.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrable experience working on avionics, embedded software, or airborne systems within highly regulated aerospace environments.
• Strong understanding of aerospace certification processes and airworthiness requirements.
• Experience working with relevant industry standards including DO-178C and related avionics certification frameworks.
• Ability to engage effectively with engineering, quality, certification, and regulatory stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience acting as a Software or Avionics Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) on aircraft, propulsion, or aerospace development programmes.
• Experience supporting certification activities within an EASA-approved design organisation or equivalent airworthiness environment.
• Familiarity with software-driven engine control systems, avionics architectures, or safety-critical embedded systems.
• German language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
