Consultant, Risk & Compliance – Market & Commodity Trading and Risk (Energy Trading)

In this role, you will help design risk and compliance solutions for energy trading contexts, guiding market and commodity risk transformation projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape trading strategies, risk governance, and technology-enabled improvements. The position focuses on energy trading (power, gas, oil) and aims to deliver high-impact client outcomes through analytics, governance design, and AI-enabled transformation.

• Structure and drive workstreams to develop tailored market and commodity trading and risk solutions in energy trading environments
• Develop trading strategy, market entry strategies, and operating models; design transfer concepts and risk governance systems
• Drive AI and technology transformation strategies and implementation
• Analyze value and risk of commodity exposures and real options
• Advise on market, credit, and liquidity risks; contribute to exposure modeling, valuation, hedging, limits, stress testing, and risk governance
• Support senior team in project management, client communication, and delivery of high-impact results
• Build strong partnerships with BCG and client project teams, providing on-site expertise and guidance on commodity markets and trading risk transformation

• Experience in Market & Commodity Risk, ideally within energy trading or consulting
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for structuring complex problems
• Consulting experience supporting stakeholders on commodity risk and trading topics
• Digital and analytical capabilities with risk systems and analytics tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships
• Fluent English; German is a plus
