Contract Manager (m/f/d)

In this role, you will oversee contracts from review to renewal, coordinating with Procurement, Sales, Legal, Finance, and project teams to manage risks, deadlines, and obligations. You will draft and negotiate a range of agreements, maintain the CLM system, and ensure compliance with GDPR and export controls. You will identify legal and financial risks, provide guidance to internal teams, and support complex matters with external counsel. This role shapes how we manage contractual risk while enabling our mission to strengthen European battery supply chains.

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners (including supply, framework, service, NDA, and license agreements)
• Manage contract processes from approval and filing to renewal or termination
• Maintain and update the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and contract status metrics
• Identify and assess contractual, financial, and legal risks; implement appropriate controls
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements (GDPR, export controls)
• Verify service levels, prices, warranties; handle deviations and amendments
• Develop and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation guidelines
• Advise internal departments on contract questions and run training sessions on processes
• Coordinate with Legal, external law firms, and cross-functional teams on complex matters

• Degree in law, business law, business administration, or industrial engineering (or commercial apprenticeship with relevant training)
• At least three years of professional experience in contract management, procurement, sales, or a legal department
• Solid knowledge of German contract and commercial law (BGB, HGB)
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with SAP S/4HANA and CLM systems
• Knowledge of international contracts, Incoterms, and CISG preferred
• Experience in industrial/technical environments or a contract management certification is a plus
