Customer Project Manager Power

My client is looking for an Experienced CPM to support its customers based in Germany. This role is for a local candidate or someone already residing in Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the candidate should ideally be located in Düsseldorf or willing to travel there for customer meetings. The position will start in 2‑4 weeks and can be based anywhere in Germany, preferably Düsseldorf. You will be required to visit customer sites as needed. The initial contract is 6 months, extendable, with the possibility to become permanent and will be pay‑rolled locally.

How this role contributes

  • Ensures successful customer project delivery , from planning through commissioning and operational handover.
  • Strengthens company strategy by improving deployment quality, customer satisfaction, and operational readiness .
  • Acts as the in‑country representative supporting the customer engineering, DSO approvals, implementation, and ongoing operations including maintenance.
  • Reduces deployment delays through proactive project governance , risk management, and technical oversight.
  • Provides structured feedback to engineering and product teams to optimise future deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Project Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between customer stakeholders and internal engineering, services, and product teams.
  • Support customer project planning, governance, reporting, and communication across all phases of deployment.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies, and change control to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support customer teams in developing operational procedures, documentation, and maintenance frameworks.
  • Able to professionally interface with all stakeholders (customer, authorities, services providers, etc.)
  • Active risk management to ensure road blocks are removed / rollout pace accelerated where ever possible.
  • Coordinate technical / support where ever necessary to support customer.
  • Analytical in planning and forecasting rollout pace.

Technical Implementation & Deployment

  • Ensure customer capabilities in deployment, commissioning and maintenance of AC/DC power systems, distribution equipment, and BESS components.
  • Provide guidance on site readiness , electrical designs, installation quality, and compliance with electrical , safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee field engineering activities, ensuring resources, capacity, and technical prerequisites align with rollout plans.
  • Support customer in establishing corrective and preventative maintenance processes for power and BESS systems.

Operational & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Monitor deployment progress and provide structured reporting to internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Drive early risk identification and mitigation across technical and operational workstreams.
  • Deliver technical coaching and knowledge transfer to customer operations teams, particularly around AC/DC systems, power distribution, and BESS operations.
  • Provide continuous improvement feedback to internal teams to enhance deployment methodologies and operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in implementation, commissioning, or project delivery of power systems, AC/DC infrastructure, or electrical/electronic systems .
  • 10 year’s project management experience in electronic / electrical systems deployment into service.
  • Strong background in energy storage, power distribution, critical infrastructure, or industrial electrical deployments .
  • Customer Project Manager experience in multi‑site or technical delivery environments, ideally involving complex engineering or power systems.
  • Telecom network rollout or telecom services delivery experience is a significant added benefit, especially where it involves power systems, site engineering, or multi‑site deployment coordination.
  • Proven ability to work independently, lead on‑site activities, and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, installation standards, commissioning processes , and structured implementation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English .
  • Methodical, structured, and detail‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
