Data Center Technician (On-Site)

Job Overview

Provides complex Data Center support to meet uptime goals. Serves as Data Center technical subject matter expertise and hands on participation to maintain, troubleshoot and manage Data Center Systems.

Essential Functions

Manages the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of internal and external computer hardware systems used for designing, developing, and deploying company products.

Works with Infrastructure and Business services to provision and setup environments.

Assists with designs of automation scripts and best practice processes to minimize the human intervention required for Data Center Environments.

Proposes and guides implementation of systems and enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the Data Center Environment.

Monitors usage and performance and utilizes all standard tool sets for management of all aspects of the Data Center environment.

Responds to production issues escalated by client and support teams – requires a deep understanding of the Data Center functionality, architecture, and design, as well as production hardware infrastructure design.

Trains personnel on Data Center Processes and systems.

Works with Service Providers to ensure that the operational aspects of a Data Center are working properly.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience required or Master's Degree with 3 years of related experience required. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.

Incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of large-scale enterprise Data Center Operation platforms.

Must be comfortable working within on Prem, distributed, and hybrid Data Center environments.

Must demonstrate ability to combine metrics, events, and traces into a holistic IT Operation system.

Must have good knowledge of Data Center Facilities, server, network, virtualization, cloud, and container technologies.
