Data Strategist & Analytics Specialist

In this role you will serve as the data authority for TMN operations, guiding data sourcing, validation, and governance to support mission readiness. You will shape a TMN data strategy and oversee data quality across units and subcontractor deliverables. Expect to tackle data lifecycle design, workflow optimization, and provider assessments that enable trusted, actionable insights. This is a mission-focused position at SMX with impact on national security initiatives through robust data practices.

• Data source validation and go/no-go assessments with a data registry
• Oversight of Data Visualization Review (DVR) products and coordination of revisions
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive TMN data strategy aligned with mission objectives
• Analyze data usage to maximize value and reduce waste across the organization
• Design, document, and optimize end-to-end data workflows including ingestion, processing, storage, and dissemination
• Conduct structured evaluations of data providers and produce validation reports for decision-makers

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s preferred
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis or data management, preferably in defense/government contracting
• Experience evaluating data products or visualizations for technical accuracy
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and lifecycle management
• Experience developing organizational data strategies or roadmaps
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS)
• Familiarity with structured data environments (JSON, XML, CSV, shapefiles)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret eligibility preferred)
