Department Head Controlling & Finance

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all accounting activities in accordance with commercial and tax law requirements, working closely with executive management, tax advisors and auditors
• Serve as the central contact for all internal and external tax-related matters at national and international level
• Prepare, monitor and analyze financial plans, budgets and forecasts and derive well-founded recommendations for action
• Actively contribute to the development of corporate objectives and strategic direction
• Responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements and electronic tax balance sheets (E-Bilanz) for the entire corporate group
• Execute day-to-day operational tasks and prepare, analyze and comment on group reporting
• Coordinate financial and business issues related to subsidiaries and handle intercompany settlements
• Provide technical, disciplinary and organizational leadership and continuously develop the Accounting and Controlling teams
• Independently take on and carry out special financial/business projects within the department

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in accounting and controlling as well as in people management
• Experience with annual financial statements under commercial and tax law, preferably also with international statements (EU and Switzerland)
• Completed degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Certified Balance Sheet Accountant/Financial Accountant, Controller with strong accounting proficiency)
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and a high level of understanding of complex interrelationships
• Confident presence, facilitation/moderation skills and enjoyment of working independently, precisely and in a structured manner
