Design and Construction Manager, Construction Project team

Join our Construction Execution team as a Construction Manager (m/w/d) where you will independently oversee complex construction projects for Amazon's expanding infrastructure. In this role, you will manage delivery from external project management partners and assist in the design process management for delivery stations and fulfillment centers across EMEA. Working independently, you will utilize best practices to facilitate delivery of high-quality results while managing project budgets and coordinating with multiple teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage complex construction projects independently from initial concept through final completion
• Own project budgets, costs, and comprehensive scheduling
• Lead coordination with external partners and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
• Lead technical feasibility assessments of prospect sites and develop comprehensive solution designs independently
• Drive permitting processes with local authorities and proactively identify and mitigate early-phase project risks
• Drive process optimization and implement tactical improvements
• Make independent decisions within established project frameworks
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate project status effectively

Your day is a dynamic blend of tactical planning and hands-on project management. You'll navigate construction sites, coordinate with international teams, and make critical decisions that shape Amazon's physical infrastructure. From reviewing project schedules to resolving on-site challenges independently, you'll be the driving force behind product execution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Owner's project management representative or in other Commercial Development and Construction related disciplines
• Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Architecture (or country equivalent)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in operations management of fulfillment or distribution centers
• Professional construction management certifications
• Experience in managing cool chains, refrigeration equipment and installations, temperature-controlled environments
• Additional language skills (French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans and Zulu ) are beneficial for cross-regional project coordination across EMEA
