Design Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role you will design components and complex assemblies with a focus on safety, manufacturability, and robustness. You will assess in-service performance to boost reliability and define stakeholder requirements using Model Based Definition within a Model Based Environment. You will develop tools and standards for subsystems, capture lessons learned, and support product safety through XFMEA and risk processes. You will perform dimensioning analyses and work in an agile, multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful solutions.

• Deliver design solutions for components and complex assemblies with safety, manufacturability, and robustness in mind
• Evaluate in-service performance to improve reliability
• Define stakeholder requirements per agreed policies (manufacturing, customers, analysis) using Model Based Definition
• Develop tool sets, methods, standards, and best-practice guidance for subsystems and components; capture lessons learned
• Contribute to product safety through XFMEA and risk processes
• Ensure design solutions adhere to quality systems
• Carry out dimensioning analyses using formula-based calculations and automated workflows
• Deliver work in line with priorities within an agile, multi-disciplinary team

• Degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace or equivalent
• Detailed knowledge in design of critical rotating parts (e.g., discs and drums) and related manufacturing processes
• Problem understanding and innovative problem solving in a fast-paced environment
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with data evaluation and statistical tools
• Good knowledge of aero engine design processes and specification systems; some production knowledge
• Familiarization with additive manufacturing design principles (beneficial)
• Good English (written and spoken); German an asset
